The Classics Honours programme offers students coursework modules in advanced topics in Classics, including Greek and Latin literature, Classical philosophy and comparative culture. Every year, two of the following three modules will be on offer, depending on staff availability and students’ abilities and interests:

CLAS707          Greek or Latin Genre               (16C)

CLAS715          Comparative Culture               (16C)

Students also focus on developing their reading fluency in the Classical languages via coursework modules in Greek or Latin at a level determined by their current ability:

CLAS704          Classical Languages B           (16C)

Finally, students are introduced to research in Classics via a coursework module on research methodologies and a self-driven research project in which they write their Honours dissertation under the supervision of a staff member in Classics:

While students are encouraged to develop their own research focus, it is advised that they take into consideration the expertise and experience of current staff members who are available to supervise them.
