Digital Arts (MA)

(Offered on Pietermaritzburg)

The MA in Digital Arts may be completed as a full research degree through dissertation only. It may be either purely theory-based or practice-led. Whether or not it includes a practical component, the dissertation must be between 40,000 and 50,000 words in length. A theory-based MA consists entirely of written research, while a practice-led MA includes creative or practical work accompanied by a written dissertation that fully meets academic requirements. The written component must demonstrate critical engagement and contextualise the research within the broader field of Digital Arts.
