The programme is delivered via a combination of group teaching and individual supervision. Students are invited to join weekly research seminars, including group critiques of student work. In addition to formal evaluation of work, critiques will function as an important learning and assessment process.
Students are required to be on campus during the course of this degree.
The Fine Arts Doctoral degree includes two options:
- Theory only. On completion, students submit a written thesis.
- An integrated approach to theory and practice. On completion, students submit a written thesis and a body of practical work for examination. The written thesis and practical work are submitted simultaneously and considered as a whole.
