ABOUT Linguistics PROGRAMME
Linguistics is the scientific study of language. Modules offered in the Linguistics undergraduate and postgraduate programmes systematically equip students with skills in analysing language structure, language in society and language as a cognitive ability of humans. These skills prepare students for careers in language-focused fields in a wide range of areas requiring a sound knowledge and understanding of how language is organised structurally and put to use. Such fields include translation and interpretation, media and publishing, law, speech therapy, tourism and public relations, language teaching, User Experience (UX) research and design, data analysis (content analysis, customer experience analysis, consumer language patterns), strategy development, technical writing and survey design, and business communication (corporate training, communications consulting).
